AT&T Byron Nelson Championship Trophy

AT&T was still in the process of designing the 2018 AT&T Byron Nelson trophy which (manufactured by Waterford Crystal) when I was asked to help. I modeled the trophies off of provided blueprints and then created 3D renderings which were used to get visuals of the proposed design through the decision making process quickly. Throughout the project, I rendered several trophy design options and composited them with photography to aid visually in the design selection process. To offset the production time it would take to create all of the different versions from scratch, I set up a system to make quick changes to the concept models with relative ease using a procedural modeling workflow, this provided a quick and collaborative evaluation process for designing the trophy.

Once the final design was chosen, the trophy was rendered into a mocked up scene with Jordon Spieth holding the virtual trophy.

Provided Blueprints

Working from client sketches I created a complex set of flowing arrows and graphic shapes that were surfaced with an ultra glossy basketball floor texture. In all, there was a library of over 30 separate shapes. These ribbons of wood flooring were used to frame product and interact with the lifestyle imagery bringing the players forward to create larger than life impact to the consumer.
